Citrine is a variety of Quartz and has a hardness of approximately 7 on the Mohs scale, making it relatively durable. However, rough specimens can have natural edges and uneven surfaces that may be more susceptible to chipping if dropped.
Handle gently and avoid dropping.
Clean with a soft cloth or gently rinse when appropriate.
Avoid sudden temperature changes, which can cause Quartz to fracture.
Keep away from harsh chemicals and cleaning products.
Store separately from harder or abrasive materials to help prevent scratching.

This listing is for the exact Natural Citrine Rough Specimen shown in the photographs. The piece you see is the piece you will receive.
This piece is sold to us as natural Citrine by our supplier. Natural Citrine is relatively rare, and much of the Citrine available commercially is produced by heat-treating Amethyst. Colour alone cannot reliably determine whether a piece of Citrine is naturally coloured or heat treated, so we do not make claims beyond the information provided by our supplier.
Want to know more about the fascinating relationship between Citrine and Amethyst? Our Learning Library explores the science behind natural Citrine, heat-treated Amethyst and why the popular “all Citrine starts as Amethyst” explanation doesn't tell the whole story. As this is a natural rough specimen, variations in colour, texture, surface structure, inclusions and markings are natural characteristics of the individual piece.
The approximate dimensions are 4.5cm × 4cm × 1.5cm.
